Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Dennis Carl Jones, a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, answered his call to ministry in 1978 and has faithfully served in pastoral leadership for decades. After shepherding several churches in Louisiana, he became the 5th Pastor of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in 1998. Under his leadership, the church has experienced significant spiritual and financial growth, expanded its facilities, eliminated debt early, and strengthened outreach efforts to serve both the church and surrounding community.

Pastor Jones is passionate about evangelism, discipleship, and meeting practical needs through ministries that support families, youth, and those facing hardship. His influence extends beyond the local church through national and international missions, revival preaching, and leadership roles within the National Baptist Convention and community organizations. He is married to Zora Thompson and is the proud father of one son.
